The Lake Nona Institute is working alongside Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions Inc. to conduct a multi-generational research project studying the health and wellness of the Lake Nona community over the course of multiple years. The Lake Nona Life Project is a unique opportunity for businesses, universities, the government and medicine to unite and study wellness on a larger scale, while caring for individuals and communities one person at a time. Data gathered through this valuable research will provide a rich foundation for additional studies and strategies that can have a positive impact on the health of future generations.

GuideWell is a not-for-profit mutual holding company that is the parent to a family of forward-thinking companies focused on transforming health care. Many of the homes in Lake Nona are created in conjunction with GE’s Homes Inspired by Ecomagination program, featuring some of the strongest sustainable designs in the country. Cisco serves as the lead partner for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) planning for the entire 7,000-acre Lake Nona community.

This development makes Lake Nona one of nine global Iconic Cisco Smart+Connected cities in the world and the first in the US. Cisco will work with Lake Nona over the next 15 years to build out Smart+Connected Communities solutions, including Smart Work Centers, and Innovation and Incubation Centers.

Working with Cisco and Cisco-registered partner Dais, Lake Nona plans to integrate the latest networking technologies and digital infrastructure design to enrich the experience for more than 25,000 planned residents, tens of thousands of onsite employees and countless visitors. Lake Nona plans to significantly expand its current IP-enabled smart services to deliver hundreds of additional services such as intelligent buildings, a virtual safe community, and unified lifelong health care delivery, learning and education.


Dais Technologies

Dais Technologies is the technology and communications provider in Central Florida brining next-generation technology to homes, businesses, education facilities, health care settings, sporting events, and hospitality and retail venues.

Dais has partnered with the Lake Nona Institute to create the native gigabit-capacity infrastructure within Lake Nona’s Laureate Park neighborhood, allowing for a no-limits internet network up to 200 times faster than the average US connection speed. Through this seamless technological platform, Lake Nona Institute partners can collaborate to create and validate the next generation of community-based applications that enhance overall quality of life.
