Cisco Live 2013 international delegates toured Lake Nona during the conference’s three-day run in Orlando. Attendees got a firsthand look at how Cisco’s connected technologies are transforming the community. After a brief presentation at Nemours Children’s Hospital by Cisco, Tavistock Group, VA Hospital and Nemours executives, the delegates toured the ‘digital control room’ at the hospital. This command center, allows multiple caregivers the opportunity to monitor patients and alert staff immediately if problems arise.
The Lake Nona tour also included a stop at an ‘Intelligent Home’ in Lake Nona’s Laureate Park that showcased how IP technology can transform daily life with demonstrations of education, security and home automation. The tour concluded at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute with a lively panel discussion among Medical City stakeholders and a videoconference with the U.S. Ignite showcase in Chicago, Ill.
The tech industry’s premiere education and training event for IT, networking, and communications professionals, Cisco Live 2013 brought thousands of professionals from around the world together to learn more about the future of networking technology.
