The Gateway to Health

Gateway Lake Nona BuildingIf you haven’t already heard about it, then you’ve probably driven by it. The new Gateway building in Lake Nona has officially opened and is already providing us with more convenient ways to stay well. Florida Hospital and UCF Health have made a new home in Lake Nona at Tavistock Lakes Boulevard and Narcoossee Road, and are working together to offer you access to a variety of medical services, including:

  • Family medicine
  • Internal medicine
  • Urology
  • Cardiology
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Sports medicine
  • Gastroenterology
  • Rheumatology
  • Dermatology
  • Obstetrics
  • Gynecology
  • An imaging center offering mammograms, ultrasounds, x-rays, MRIs and CT scans
  • A rehab center with physical therapists specializing in sports medicine
  • A lab testing center

Aside from offering the care you and your family need, what makes Gateway special is the fact that it’s all made possible by the collaborative effort between Florida Hospital, one of the country’s largest non-profit health care providers, and UCF Health, a fully functioning health system facilitated by UCF College of Medicine physicians. Unlike other health facilities, Gateway is designed to encourage synergy instead of independent work. There are no private offices here, just open spaces and labs where doctors and researchers can thrive, side by side.

This is a place that integrates clinical services, wellness, education, and research all under one roof, allowing for more opportunity for data sharing, teaching moments, research discoveries and ideation. Of course, that all means a seamless experience for patients. As a result, the Lake Nona Gateway building is already becoming a model for medical practices of the future.

“It’s an advanced approach to health and care,” said Brian Paradis, executive vice president and COO of Florida Hospital. “It’s offering the latest in treatment modalities, clinical capabilities and new approaches to wellness, and is supported deeply by education and research.”

Both UCF Health and Florida Hospital at Lake Nona Gateway are now taking appointments for new patients and accept most major insurance plans.
